Speaking of seats - the intuitive adjustments with graphics KICK *** over my W212 seats. I _still_ am not clear on what all the buttons do on the W212
The Lumbar graphic you can draw a boob with to set positioning and volume is awesome.
Same with all the rest, so easy to understand and adjust.
And the massages - fantastic. The W212 just felt like a lame roller in comparison.
The W212 bolsters seemed deeper, but a very good trade off for everything else.

OH only one pet peeve! When a passenger cranks the bolsters all the way in the leather wrinkles on the outsides of them making the seat look 20 years old. Put the bolsters back to "0" and they smooth out again. Someone needs a module to code a rule to not let anyone wrinkle the seats.

Really no 3D sound? I considered for a nanosecond not to get a wagon so I could get 3D sound. I love cranking tunes. Then I figured I could always "fix" the Wagon's sound but couldn't fix the Sedan's trunk :P
One of the issues with balancing the sound in the wagon vs. the sedan is that there is an additional 55CU ft of volume behind the rear seats that does not exist on the sedan. I also keep the movable cargo cover extended to partially seal off the cavity. Remember that you bought the vehicle to be driven and not to be some highway boombox.

These stock bad boys lol. Still in transit from Germany.

With spacers and lowering it’ll have an “OEM+” look. Hopefully better stance with only enthusiasts really knowing why.

The HRE P107 rims I want are out of my budget.

For winter I’m flip flopping between just running the forged black cross spokes with winter tires, or getting this 19” setup from another thread:

I drove the W212 to the lake and back after leaving it parked for a week.

Observations:
The mirrors are not in my way! lol they are smaller and a lot lower.

The perceived "on rails" nimble handling - a few things are doing this IMHO and here's what I think is going on
1) The steering is a lot stiffer in the W212. It takes more torque to move the wheel, there is a lot more resistance.
2) The suspension is bouncier the sport plus double shock light setting. Think lowered Civic - not in a good way compared to the new car. It also jars on some bumps. The new car absorbs them nicely. I now like the new car better.
3) I don't see any hood. It's like I'm flying down the road.
4) The steering wheel is skinner to grip

Soo... I'm flipping my opinion after driving the new one exclusively for a week then driving the old one - the new one is now edging out the old one. That Raw feeling I enjoyed didn't seem as enjoyable after a week in the W213.

More things:
I forgot how much pedal lag there is on the W212! I have to push the pedal down a full second before I want to move. I forgot that. New one MUCH better in the gas pedal area. Night and day.
I hate the smell of the no-cat life. I'm never doing that to the new car. I don't care how much HP I leave on the table one day. Not worth it to me.
I love how the new car turns HVAC fans down as soon as you use the phone
I love physical buttons. Someone needs to make a button box we can install in our cars that runs macros for us at the push of a button

I have this 19" OEM setup ... it should cost you around $6,000 and change if buying a brand new set. since you have your 21 cross spoke anyway, why not just use that and buy the winter tires and saves you like $4,000 (or to use on other mods). Just my 2 cents.

Thoughtful touches like this are cool. Along the same lines my new GT3 lowers audio volume by like 80% when selecting reverse gear.

Wired Airplay Apple Music (not streamed)
I've since used the fader to move the sound +3 to the rear and I now don't feel like I'm listening to a Bluetooth Bose POS in front of my face.
It's not great but I'll live. It's a car not a listening room.

Add another point for the Germans for again adding so many thoughtful little features that most people would not even think about. It's impressive how many of these small things are incorporated into German designed cars.

Simple things like the way the center console opens in a butterfly arrangement, so the passenger can still access the center console storage while the driver's arm does not need to move off the other half. Cool stuff.

The fan throttle to lessen the noise for a phone call is another example, however that makes me wonder, doesn't that turn you into a sweaty conversationalist? lol

(or a shivering conversationalist, depending on the season. )

I don't know why I hate the cross spokes so much.
If I can sell them for a good price I'll get the HRE for summer and 5 star for winter. I know I know the 5 star are cast and will crack and bend in the winter but damn I hate those black cross spokes with a vengeance. I can't wait to take them off.
The conflict is if I sell them I'll need them for some reason in the future (always happens) and the car will already be misisng original stuff after a couple weeks.
LOL.

I'm not familiar with Apple Music, but what is the bit-rate for the stream. I'm using 192kb compression and i can hear the difference using that vs a 48kb stream. Glad you're good with the rolling boombox now.

I know I have a different system (2018) but I get the highest quality sound via Bluetooth from my phone, as baffling as that may be.

LOL.
I have a set of 4 RTR cross spokes from my previous sedan if you're interested. They've been in bags and rotated complete with tpms and Michelin PS/4 summers with about 2500 miles on them.

Is it the design (cross spokes) you hate or is it the color black ? Color can be stripped and powder coated or repainted to whatever color you like.

i know … wheels are always a subjective preference to most of us

It’s the spokes. Just not my thing. If there were 5/10 instead of 7/14 they’d rock. 7/14 is too busy for me.

I do like our butterfly arm rests but reaching over the half lid isn't the easiest while driving. The idea of not bothering the driver is interesting and never thought about that though. Recently I saw Lexus' new lid and found it pretty cool but after moving over from Lexus to MB, it would be very difficult to move back.

Is it me or does the MB seat ventilation reduce the fan speed at stop lights in order to make it quieter? It picks up speed as the throttle increases and the noise it creates gets masked with road noise. Nice touch.

That Lexus lid is pretty cool. It's a swinger! lol

I haven't noticed that in the seat ventilation, I'll need to pay attention to that.

I swear there must be 100's of people in a dark basement in Stuttgart whose sole purpose is to think of all these little things.

The horses are now in the barn, 2019 E63s
The S Class center console lid opens just like the Lexus.

Great story of perseverance @I.T. Guy , nearly the same thing happened to me with my '20 EDP order and I eventually found a MY19 closest to the order spec that I could live with and am very happy.
