After disassembling the mirror, can see why the GPS was not seeing any satellites (and a xentry scan showed an open connection)

The telephone antenna must be removed to get the gps antenna. Once removed, one T10 screw is used to hold the antenna in place. After removal, a twist and the antenna comes out.
Now, i ended up removing the driver side mirror entirely so i could fish the gps antenna out.
I used a cable routing kit that i use for internal wires in bicycle to help so i can pull the new cable.

More than likely it can be done eithout, but i did it with made it easier.
