E53 Wheel/Tire Combos

I've been looking and searching the forum for tire/wheel combos for an E53 and am not having any luck. Apologies if this is covered somewhere well, and my search skills are not up to par.

E63 and E53 seemingly have different suspension set ups, so what is working for E63s won't work for me in a 53, unfortunately. Things like 21's and 10"/11" wide wheels.

What kind of inner clearance does a 53 have f/r? It looks like 15mm of outer clearance front, and 15mm of outer clearance rear from what I can gather about the spacers people are using, but that is barely a half inch so doesn't leave many wheel options that are bigger than stock...

I found some flow forged wheels at Mode Auto Concepts that they do some modular customization for - Finish (15ish to choose from), lug pattern, and offset (as long as offset is between 20 and 45).

Fronts:
  • 19x8.5
  • ET26
  • 255/40
  • 15mm spacer
This should give me 3mm extra inner clearance for front and will move outer position 15mm (just like applying a spacer to stock wheel). I think this would work fine. I could also do a 20, but think I'd like the extra stagger in wheel size.

Rears:
  • 20x10
  • ET45
  • 295/30
  • no spacer
This would reduce inner clearance by 9mm and extend rear position by 17mm...which may be too far for both inner and outer. I could do 9.5 wide with 43 offset for 0mm change in inner clearance and +12mm outer position, but would really like 10" wide in rear.

Anyone have any E53 experience and can help me out?

You are considering doing different wheels sizes? It may look odd
