Solved my issue

So, the more I drove my wagon, the more it disappointed me. Yes, it’s quick. And really have no real complaints. But I think I should have bought a pre facelift. But that being said, I solved my disappointment. Bought a 2024 CT5V Blackwing, manual transmission. And it’s totally what I was looking for. Incredible overruns, smooth as silk, and darn fast. Yes, it’s not quite what the wagon is, in regards to some materials, but if you want some real visceral, supercharged power and sound, it fits the bill perfectly. They offered me good money for the wagon, but they’re some sentimental attachment, since it was hard to get. So, I’ll send it down to Naples, where it can live with the blu-blood Bentleys and Ferraris. After all, it is a rare wagon. Just wish it had some vocal cords. Really loving the caddy!! It does not disappoint!!!

Congratulations. The Blackwing is incredible in manual. Best of luck.

What was your wagon spec and is it for sale?

Polar white, pretty much loaded 2021, no carbon ceramics, approx. 6,000 miles, perfect condition. Not for sale, it will shipped south and be a condo car for while. As I hide out from winter in SWFL. My 2016 C63S only had approx. 9500 miles when I sold it. Still see it driving around. Trips to Miami are most of the miles. Don’t go too far. Just don’t see many wagons, even where I am in FL . It’s like “car cornucopia”, you see everything. My neighbor has a white wide body RR Cullian. It’s very sweet. So, south the wagon goes and I’ll be heading that way soon too !!!

I’m thinking of moving from pre to post facelift myself. So I’m interested in what you didn’t like about it exactly. Thanks!

All in all, it’s been a rock solid wagon. Drives great and it’s darn fast too. My prior AMG sedans always had a bit of crack and burble on over runs that you could hear. Not crazy obnoxious, but a nice burble. My FL has the neutered exhaust. Sadly, it’s quite a bit less audible and much harder to hear, unless you’re sort of ringing it out. Which is great, but not many spots to really experience any of that. There’s a marked difference between the pre FL and a FL. More than you think. It’s a great wagon. Rare, I guess. So, I’ll keep it for a while, might be worth something, some day. But, my caddy has my attention now !!

Yeah the caddy has a lot of character. Great buy imo!

I wonder what makes the difference in sound so noticeable. I know they introduced rev limiters, but would it be an OPF on the FL cars? I thought that was just a European mandate.

Appreciate the insight. I’m a firm believer that sound is essential to the driving experience.

Good info to know. I too was wondering if the FL exhaust really made a difference and it sounds like it does. That’s too bad. The other things I didn’t like about FL is they dropped the IWC clock which I thought added a really nice touch. Now it’s just a blank rounded area there 🤷🏼‍♂️. I also see very few new ones with the 3D High End audio. Not saying they are out there but rarely see it. Based on my research it sounds like 19/20 is sorta the sweet spot….I know it can be changed, but can’t stand the look of the 2018 steering wheel. Plus they became heated in 2019.
