Petrol Range

When the car shows that it has 457km in range on a full tank, what does it mean? At what speed and driving style is it calculating that at?

Estimated range is based on the average fuel economy over the previous 'x' km of driving. Exactly what the value of 'x' may be is anybody guess, and likely only known by a few MB engineers.

The estimated distance is that. Real time calculation based on real time mpg usage per current fill level of the tank.

on my car, after fill up it usually shows 308 miles/495km but after driving some.. i usually get it to 416miles/669km.

On average i have been getting around 382 miles per tank (i reset the trip meter after each fillup).

I've driven a 100 miles and actually have a greater range showing than when I started. It just depends on how you're driving it.

I almost made 700km and chickened out with 6 liters left. If I didn’t wimp out I could have past 700km.

My W212 could barely crack 500km

14L/100 ... that's impressive. You must be driving mostly highways and/or comfort mode at most time. I drove on sport mode and almost entirely on local roads and I only can do 18L/100

It's been a few weeks of long distance driving to kids place with my loving wife in the car. She is very sensitive to G forces.
I'll likely never hit that average again

ooohh, you still had more mileage left. Once the little fuel tank thing goes red, THEN it is low.

Yup 97km left and was at 603 = 700km! but then the 97km range number disappeared, it would no longer tell me range, so I got nervous as my other Mercedes all did that around 20km. So I thought UH OH! What if I really don't still have 90+ and it realized I only have 20 left?

THANK YOU For the red tip, good to know I'm still OK until then.

MB has the dumbest range display I've ever seen: when it's not super critical it'll provide the range, then when actually is critical it stops telling you. 🤷‍♂️
