Another wagon is toast

Another wagon has left not just the US market, but in this case the global market. Enjoy yours while you can!

RIP Panny ST.

E-Class and RS6 Avant are the remaining V8 wagons in the U.S. market, correct? Looks like Caddy doesn’t offer a wagon nowadays.

I have a strong feeling the RS6 "Competition" variant will be a future classic that will maintain value forever.

If I ever win the lotto I wouldn't go for the super cars. I'd just buy all the wagons.

Just think, it was only 30 years ago when min-vans were all the rage and no one heard about SUVs with the exception of Range Rover and Jeep. If you wait long enough, the super wagons will be back with a hydrogen-powered electric motors.

45+ years ago Dad had a fully loaded Chrysler Town & Country with 440 V8 that he bought used from VW dealership after trading in his Dasher Wagon. Later at Rochester the AMC Eagle Station Wagon was all the Rage, liked the 4.2L straight 6. Should have bought the Final Edition Grand Wagoneer when relocated to New Mexico but instead bought 1991 C/K 1500 Chevy Pickup with my GM Employee Discount thru Hughes Aircraft.

A Hydrogen Powered Wagon would be awesome in 5-10 years. I know Toyota was collaborating with BMW with this Tech a few years ago. At 63, think my last car will be a Corvette E-Ray if I let go of AMG Wagon in 2026. Thru my Chevy SS Forum Moderator already found a friendly Chevy Dealership in Atlanta. Lost my GMS employee discount in 2019...

We’ve had a host of Benz wagons (‘90, ‘95 (a fave), ‘98, ‘05 E55, ‘14 E63, ‘20 E63) and have enjoyed all of them (well, the ‘98 was a bit of a bust with ongoing electrical issues). Can’t understand the lack of popularity but whatever. But to add to IT Guy’s list:
2024 Volvo V60 Polestar Plug-In Hybrid.
Took delivery in August. An absolute delight. Fast, smooth, handles well. Have purchased 1 tank of gas in 2000 km (and then because we felt guilty that the gas might go bad). Best of many worlds with a price that doesn’t make you buckle at the knees.

You can still get the MB All Terrain with a V6, but the E-Class V8 wagon is no more as well.

^ It's an in-line 6 (and will carry over to the S214 generation), and there are still new E-class V8 wagons available at dealerships. But, yes, after they're gone, there will be no more.

You're right, thanks for the correction. Still sad MB is getting rid of the V8 wagon before I bought one. I'm hoping MB changes its mind especially since they are still making a V8 for the AMG GT.

High Performance wagons are just so practical though...RIP to the Porsche. I almost got one before I got the 63s. Its a beautiful car if you wrap your head around spec'ing it.

There's something about the performance Wagons though, brutal power, outrageous, loud, impractical or what ever you call it, , there will always be demand for them among certain group of people, always.

If I lived inside I-95 corridor between DC-Philly-NYC -Boston the E450 AT wagon would be all I need.

Sunday left Reston Virginia 4am for Long Island to beat Traffic. The crappy roads and blood sucking Tolls along 95 corridor limited my AMG Wagon's Joy even with limited traffic until the Belt Parkway after Narrows Bridge. On way back to Virginia after 6pm took longer Western Route from GW Bridge I-80/287/78/83 thru York PA. Even in the Rain was able to fully utilize TTV8's E63s Performance on the smooth roads. The $3 Toll at NJ/PA border after leaving NYC was just a blip. Got back to Reston 11pm Sunday Refreshed and Joyful after my long day's journey into Night...

Although Volvo doesn't work for me but that is a sick wagon, enjoy in good health.
