Anyone running all-seasons year round?
I’m running my PSAS4s right now and finding I have all the grip I could imagine — would love to avoid swapping wheels twice a year and noise/NVH from PS4S
anyone running all seasons year round? I’m in NYC btw…

I run Yokohama Geolander A/T's on my G550 and Michelin Cross Climate2's on my BMW year round in Colorado. Both tires have 3MPSF traction ratings that make them more suitable for year round use than ordinary all season rated tires.

Very intrigued by this.
For a daily driver and a family car, I’m leaning towards all seasons. My thinking here is that I need to give up some dry summer performance for wife and family to have better traction in surprise wet and wet + cold spring and fall seasons.
Performance of A/S in winter is comparable to winters on dry roads until you start getting into frigidly cold temps. We just don’t see those consistently or snow consistently in Chicago these days to solve for it exclusively.
To be really clear, I think this works bc it’s a family car. If it were mine or an occasional car, I’d match the tire for the season.

I’ve been running the Conti Extreme Contact All Season (DWS, DWS06, whatever), since ‘09 on everything, FL or MI. The reason is what OP said. Both my S55 and my M3 came with Michelin summers on them and when they got brittle I decided I just don’t need that max grip summer thing. Ever. I don’t drive like that, at least not enough to give up usability of the cars in adverse conditions, or worse (wife and kids in the car, rolling through the PA, NJ or TN hills or mountains in 45* rain). I have never regretted that decision.
Of course, in MI I use a dedicated winter car, so these comments don’t apply for anything below 45*. And even then on clear dry pavement, you notice the difference that heat in the tires makes.
I hope that $.02 helps.

Nokian WRG5 was just announced. Waiting for some reviews. The WR4 is a good contender to the Crossclimate2.

I run the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 (PSAS4) year round and love them! For non track driving there is verrrrrry little difference between them and the Pilot Sport 4 (PS4). There have been multiple professional reviews with the same results. The Mercedes E63S loves them. Heck, when I change tires on my 2015 Porsche GTS this summer I am considering putting the PSAS4s on it as well. I live in a mild 4 season climate and swapping tires for below 40deg temps is a pain in the A$$.

I'm in North NJ and run the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires year round on my 23 e63. I figured I don't really touch the margin where summer tires give me benefit when I drive day to day, I just don't reach those limits nor have the roads to explore that limit with summer tires. In which case, the Michelins have been phenomenal. Allows for low gear with downpour rain or cold weather traction at full throttle without any slip, its great. I don't have to worry about any of the conditions like now, where it might flurry a bit in the morning and then its 65 degrees in the afternoon.

Here's an interesting graph I just came across the other day. Performance AS tires these days compare quite favorably to summer performance tires, but they really start falling off steeply once it gets into cold and snowy conditions, Keep in mind, AWD doesn't help you stop. Also, this graph is for normal driving. Performance/track driving is a different story, that's where the summer performance tires will start to outperform everything else.
Unless the tire has the snow flake mountain peak on the sidewall, they are mainly 3 season tires. On the other hand, the CrossClimate 2, which is one of the few AS tires rated for snow, you can see that it even outperforms a dedicated snow tire until you really get into the deep snow conditions, but even then its performance is not much less. I have put the CrossClimate 2 on my wife's VW as it is our occasional winter car going to the mountains. It's a Grand Touring tire, though, so the issue is you are not gonna find it in low profile sizes.

Another vote here for PSAS4's. I had been running the A/S 3's on my 550 for many years and feel the A/S 4's are even better. I just got my E63S in December and immediately put on the A/S 4's - they were great in what little snow we had in Toronto, Canada.

Drove ps4s in the good ol canadian winter this past season and nearly went head to head with a fire hydrant.
