The Camber King Scam

So I purchased a set of these arms from Thecamberking. He's been nothing but unresponsive in helping me get a return. I read up on the forum about them making noise over time so I texted him on his phone number +1 (860) 620-2927. He sent me his return address, I sent the package over and it's been delivered since September 16. I sent him a text on the 17th and he said he will look into it. I texted him afterwards and he's just been radio silent about the refund. Beware, I'm not sure if he will respond later or not but he does get unresponsive. Wouldn't be surprised if anyone has complications with his product and he goes unresponsive when they need help with something.

I have a pair of their A arms. They worked really well but eventually started to squeak badly. I contacted him and he mentioned a cover that I didn't have. Apparently they include them with the arms but mine didn't have them. I asked about getting new ones and bushings but all I got was silence. I was willing to pay but apparently that didn't make any difference.
There are a lot of one man shops on the internet. They start with great fanfare and after a while the owner gets busy with other things, bored, broke, whatever.
I disagree it is a scam. Just really poor communication thus not a company you want to do business with.

I have the OEM arms back on and the Camber King (F1) taking up room on a shelf in the garage.

I have a set of his arms too. It's just a one man shop and he's not very responsive at all, but you never know what could be happening in his life. My arms started to squeak badly as well due to the heim joints they came with. I had them replaced with much better quality heim joints and the squeak is completely gone.

If you paid by Credit Card, dispute it. It only hurt their business in the end after the Credit card company investigates the dispute. If you paid by Paypal, dispute it and make sure you also include all details of you invested way to resolve the matter.
Any business should offer a refund under term however the biggest business are big because they thing, breath and live, customer experience. It only takes a few customers with poor review and turn a company in a think pot.

Could someone explain the purpose of these parts? I get the urge to have a tuner car, but an E63s seems pretty solid as it is, especially in the suspension department. I was recently under my wagon to replace the big plastic cover that tried to play catch with a rock (apparently). I noted the suspension components are massive and impressive. My car aligned perfectly (new tires) and tracks like an outrigger with size XXXXXXL tiger paws. It's heavy as @%^$ so I don't expect the greatest handling or transition response. Very competent though and it already sticks like it really shouldn't be able to considering its weight.

What am I missing?

missing wear on inside edge of tires de to severe camber settings that are not really adjustable from factory unless you buy special MB cmaber adjusting bolts which give limited adjustment
or parts from aftermarket comapnies which sell adjustable camber arms or adjustable bushings.

Everything has pros and cons so all up to what you like.

Interesting. I just replaced the original tires on a 10k mile wagon I bought earlier this yar. Tires showed no uneven wear. (They actually showed very little wear anywhere... it was very disturbing to spend $3k plus on tires and alignment for tires that looked close to new.) I don't doubt the need but I wouldn't have guessed if I didn't read it here.

There is some variability in alignment capability from vehicle to vehicle. Most E63S will have enough to correctly align with stock specs. Non stock specs are when you lower it, add more offset to your wheels, go to wider tires. When you do one or more of these it is common to find the stock suspension doesn't have the adjustability needed to keep wear even. The A arms/special bushings/etc are for those situations.

is it worth it to get these? I have purchased 3 sets of tires in 12 months because my rears keep getting destroyed. I drive 80 miles every day.

Do NOT care. Not a consumers problem. As a business owner, the buck stops here, with me. I am glad the forum is calling this guy out to allow for others to be aware of the issues.

Tires are usually over $400 each installed 4x$400 = $1600
KMac Bushings are ~$800 + ~$600 to install + ~$400 for a full alignment = $1800*
*I'm really just guessing here. Labor rates depend a lot on where you live.

So by the second set of tires you're well over what the bushings would cost. In most cases the bushings will be just about the cost of a set of tires.

If you're using stock height/width/offset the issue is probably alignment. Find a good shop that uses modern equipment and can do a full 4 wheel alignment. When I have my E63S aligned they use a Rotary alignment system and I get a full color printout that shows the starting alignment and the ending alignment. The print out also shows what the desired (OEM) numbers should be. You know exactly where you should be and where you're at. Then you can make a decision on if you need to go with the bushings/A arms.
