Not sure what to do any advice is appreciated

Hey yall I just purchased a 2018 e63s ED1 from a Benz dealer in Illinois (I’m based out of nyc) I had an inspection done and passed but when I received the car last week it I had a leak in my driveway so I got it checked out by my mechanic and it was the oil pan gasket (quick fix but cost me 500$) I reached out to the dealership and they refused to give me any type of help basically blaming me for buying an “7 year old” car far away and that it was my fault I’m not sure what else to do. It’s not even about the money at this point I just feel this is wrong on a dealership to do
any advice? (I’ve attached the emails sent, all left ignored)

If it's for sure just the oil pan gasket and not the RMS, then appreciate that it's fixed, move on, and enjoy the car. And then write a bad yelp review if you get bored.

I think my concern is that if they missed this very obvious issue what else did they miss on the inspection? Have you done a private inspection on this car now that you've received it? I agree with the comment above this car should be evaluated to see if it's leaking from the rear main seal - and just get a full PPI.

not much recourse with this dealer unless you're going to get experts to guide and work for you to get some type of outcome - which would be the $500 if that's all it is, but if the PPI shows worse you may need more help.

consider an aftermarket warranty on this car

you can always call MBUSA but they have been pretty useless with issues like this as they defer this to the dealers particularly since it's used and as is, but worth a shot.

check out the sticky

yeah that’s my main concern I’m taking it to a Mercedes dealer next week to make sure everything checks out

Find a great shop with a stellar reputation and is familiar with the W213 E63S. Then have them do a complete inspection (make sure they remove covers so it can be comprehensive). You may want to also have them replace all the fluids (including brake) and inspect them for any sign of problems (IE metal shavings).

Personally I wouldn't bother with the selling dealer unless they promised a CPO, it was in writing, and you didn't get it. Otherwise you're best to just drop it. You'll spend way more that $500 trying to get a response you would be satisfied with. $500 is hardly anything for these cars. A RMS replacement including the oil separators will run almost 10X that.

yeah I plan on doing that at the Mercedes dealer and I’ve already bought a third party warranty just for my peace of mind (fidelity 60k miles or 5 year warranty)
