Thinking about a 2019 E53
Looking to returning to AMG, I'm checking a 2019 E53 Cabrio, obsidian black with red roof. Just 25K miles, well maintained. Can't see the packages at lastvin.
The issues with the 48V were resolved? Any other item i need to check?
Thanks.

Given that a lot of owners are getting melted wiring harnesses though, i would definitely stick with warranty. Maybe even an extended warranty.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

What kind of person I am? Well currently I’m on a Land Rover Discovery 5 TD6. Maybe one of the worst nightmare for some… first diesel for me. After a new DPF and some other parts lol… is running beautifully. Before that I purchased a LR3, that I hated and just move away in 3 months. Past cars: 2005 E55, 2009 C63, 2012 Lotus Evora, 2012 SLK55, Cayman, Mini, X1, even the first 2019 Audi Etron. Sometimes you win sometimes you loose and exchange the car.
I’m just looking for a DD and weekend fun car. Almost bought a 2021 GLA45, and 2017 Macan Turbo PP.
Do we understand the V8 M177 is more reliable that this new 53 engine?
Thanks for the support and advice!

the m177 is more reliable over all than the e53... yes. The biggest issue with the m177 is the OVS/RMS, see sticky. Plus is more fun and a purist car - great for your weekend thrills.
a new 48v Mercedes is more reliable than a used 48v Mercedes as there have been some updates. Beware the burned harnesses in the m256 e53

look at some used e63's and take one for a spin

Yes, prices on the Puerto Rico paradise are more expensive!

the average cosmopolitan buyer of the m256 for 450 and 53 cars isnt going on forums to discuss DIYing, best guess, and also my best observation.
But I would agree go get a new 48v. M176s that have it are pretty good in terms of borderline no issues at all. (580 GLS and S classes)

A well documented m177/8 engine vs your speculation/guess on why a lack of input online re: m256 issues and routine ownership experience; I hear you
it is what it is; I just recommend getting a warranty if you're risk averse and still want an e53. I'm sure it's a great car

I will check what warranty is available!
Then te recommendation is:
if E53 then 2021 year and ahead
if C63s up to 2020.
