New Member + New E63S Wagon — Pics & First Impressions

Subject: New here — just bought an Mercedes E63S Wagon and loving it!

Hey everyone — I’m a new member here. Just picked up a Mercedes E63S Wagon (2021) and I’m absolutely loving it — the blend of family-friendly space and supercar-level performance is unreal. I’ve put a few hundred miles on it so far: the exhaust note, the torque, and that AMG launch control are addictive. A few minor things to get used to with the cabin tech, but nothing serious.
Also, I dropped the ride a bit using a lowering module — the factory Airmatic always looked a bit too lofty to me. It’s just a subtle change to give the stance a cleaner, sportier look without killing daily comfort.

Quick background: I’ve owned sporty sedans before but this is my first proper AMG and first wagon — total conversion. Looking forward to learning from you all, sharing experiences, and taking part in meetups if anyone’s nearby.

Question for the group: has anyone done a stage 1 tune or ECU flash on an E63S and noticed any long-term reliability trade-offs? I want more power but don’t want to risk the drivetrain or warranty too much. Recommendations for reputable tuners or safer bolt-on mods are much appreciated.

Cheers!

Welcome!
Nice Colour!

Im too wimpy to tune and lose my warranty. I almost pulled the trigger and my Check Engine light came on that week before tuning. Now I’m shy again.

As for longevity there doesn’t seem to be any issues at all doing a Stage 1 or 2.

Very nice. Blue Magno. You should assume a tune will always impact reliability. Even with engines like the AMG 4.0 biturbo (or the McLaren 3.8 and 4.0 biturbo) that are tuned at different levels for different models, those tunes are done by engineers that consider reliability and often upgrade other parts of the car to accommodate the heat/power. But that's just me using engineering "common sense" and many (many) will diagree. I can't use the 600+ hp on the road (same with the 650 hp of my McLaren), so the purpose of a tune escapes me. How am I to notice 2.8 instead of 3.0 in the 0-60 acceleration. I can't even use the McLaren's power on the track since I'm nowhere near that good. Ok, maybe down the straight, but my local tracks (Sonoma Raceway, Laguna Seca) don't have very long straights.
