@richard-palarea Could you post your detailed parts list? Are the parts that failed the same as cam phasers? If this is top-end work, why dd the engine have to come out? (please excuse if this is a stupid question)

OldManAndHisCar I also stop by my MB dealership to say hi to the head sales guy and visit my service rep (who I invite to Cars & Coffee). Just did this Saturday. But they have a business to run. Their diagnostic charge is $330/hr owing to labor rates in the SFBA. I've always been satisfied with the quality of the work, but I view that as a credit to my service rep, who's been there forever. I've been taken across the freeway to their ~40 bay service facility to meet the mechanics that are assigned to my car (and service rep). I feel very sad when I hear some people don't have excellent service at their local dealership. If you pay a fortune, it's only fair that the work be done to factory standards.

This place is a joke.
You're getting juiced. Total labor hours are about 7.8 and parts should not be more than $3K.
