I just picked up my car from the dealership after having the oil pan replaced. They are telling me this is the correct oil level but I think it is one bar low. Is this correct or not ??
@C63fora2w1 Interesting you posted this. I changed my oil on my E63s wagon last month for the first time, and I carefully measured what came out and put the same back in as a starting point. I asked my service rep if the following was ok. He said it was preferred because of thermal expansion. I believe this. I have a McLaren, and the bars on its oil level are 100 cc apart. I found the densities of the oil at different temperatures and found thermal expansion is significant. So smack in the middle is fine. If you engine is fully warmed up, a max reading is ok too, but expect the level to drop if not fully warmed up.
