curious to find out whether we'll get any notifications as mine likely falls under that based on the year of manufacture . . . just checked on MB page via VIN# and it indicates no open recalls on mine . . . likely needs a bit more time to register . . .Originally Posted by bobblehead

Looks like MB completed their investigations back in March 2026. It will take a few months to organize and make the necessary arrangements to get those w213 prefacelift affected owners

Thanks for posting. I have plans for another big trip in my car this summer, so definitely will be having my shop take a look for any signs of issues.

I don't understand. It looks like no AMG 4-matic cars included, no E63, S63, C63, etc., based on the pdf document. Is that correct or am I reading it wrong?

I think you're correct, I missed the link to the document in the article first time around, and the article didn't make the lack of AMGs listed clear. I guess it makes sense we don't use the same driveshaft components as S560. I'll probably still ask my shop to take a look anyways but not urgently.Originally Posted by carlosinseattle

Recall updated to include AMG versions, your E63 and my S63 are both included in the recall. Just took them awhile to include all the cars:Originally Posted by Arjy

Thanks for those, I figured that may be the case. I am searching but can't find any updated PDF can you point me in the right direction? I also just did a lookup by VIN on NHTSA and MBUSA sites and still nothing came up, but seems things are in flux right now. Hopefully it can be quickly resolved and we aren't waiting on parts.

Funny thins is I found it when looking at a 2018 S63 coupe on Carfax, it reported an open recall. I followed the lead and it took me to the NHTSA page with the recall. It included AMG models across those years. I can't find it again, sorry.Originally Posted by Arjy

You can go to this site and search for all recall by manufacturer: https://data.transportation.gov/stor...rer/38mw-dp8u/
Which should take you here: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=26V216000
it seems e63 and s63 have been removed

So interesting...the defective part is:
Propeller Shaft - Mercedes-Benz (253-410-32-02)
Looks like the actual defective part is not on the E63, S63 etc. cars, not sure if all AMG are excluded or not: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/202...6V216-4969.pdfSM105K

PDF shows A2534103201 and A2534103401 as the involved components, I didn't see 2534103202 listed on there.
It does seem like they are different parts from pictures and diagrams on google search.I don't see either of the part numbers listed in the PDF on mbparts search, only got ebay results. 3202 does show up and I only see AMG cars listed under vehicle fitment
https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...aft-2534103202
EDIT: found the other part listing. Looks like the part 3201 does show fitment for AMG cars?
https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...aft-2534103201
https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...aft-2534103402
3201 and 3202 both show as transfer case to front axle diff. This is where my knowledge runs out, not sure if they are showing as fitment because they could fit? Or are both components present on the car from the factory?
So unless there is more news/update coming from NHTSA seems like we may be in the clear on this.

I have a 2018 s560 so this concerned me right away. after further research it seems owners will be notified before June 02, 2026. here is the link from NHTSA

i plan on calling my dealer tomorrow.

Recalls like this highlight how even well-engineered vehicles can develop issues over time, especially with critical components like driveshaft U-joints. It’s good to see manufacturers taking responsibility before it turns into a bigger safety concern.
From a garage perspective, early detection and proper maintenance tracking can make a big difference in preventing such failures — something we’re focusing on at Autodots (https://autodots.io).

Have you tried searching by VIN yet? Seems those should be live, of course my E63 does not show any active recall for now still.Originally Posted by hawdy

So i just called my regional dealer since I live in a smaller area and don't have a benz dealer. I looked up my VIN on both NHTSA and Mercedes website. Both came back for that same recall stating it is still pending. The dealer just told me the specific issue with mine is brake line associated which doesn't make sense. In the recall it only mentions the universal joint in the drive shaft. So now i am even more confused. Will keep everyone updated on this thread as what to happens. This is still a pretty new recall so I don't think we will get notices for a while. Love the E63's as well by the way.

Thanks, yes please keep us updated. I did mention it to my indy shop, they have a dealership they work with for recalls, I tried to explain the situation as best as I could without coming across as crazy haha. I am also thinking I will give it a week or two to see if any new info comes out then call the MBUSA corporate number given on the NHTSA page for the recall.
