Check out this acceleration video of my Vtech tuned CLS63

Here's a video from a dig using the race start function. I'm running the Vtech stage 1 tune on this car. It's an absolute beast

I've heard everywhere from 9.5% to 18%
I think anywhere from 9.5 to 12% is realistic.

I would like to get your opinion on my thoughts.

Performance on a stock CLS AMG from 0-80 MPH, is very quick and quite satisfying. I think it has plenty of pull at that range.

From 65 MPH to 1XX+ MPH, does not have that same thrust feeling and pull. It feels like it could definitely use some more power when taking off from 65MPH.

I guess I am quite spoiled because on my modified Z06 (about 100 wrhp over stock) pulls like a freight train from 65-130 within seconds. I believe you said that you also have a modified Z06 also.

I know there is a big difference in weight and the Z06 is modified but do you think that your tune makes a big difference when taking off from 65MPH compared to stock. Or do you see most of the power difference down in the lower MPH range?

The difference from the midrange up past 140 mph is tremendous. In fact, I think the extra power is more noticeable in that range than it is from a dead stop. Here's a video of my car running from 50 mph thru 140 mph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpG0IhahGxg
As you can see the pull is much stronger than stock

Yes, I do have a ZO6 also that's highly modified. It's laying down 1k RWHP and run's 8.90's-9.0's
As much as I love the Z I'm even more in love with the CLS63 and thinking about getting a second one and going ***** out with it. My current CLS is actually my wife's daily driver

2 things Jim:

- get over your crying and buy one--- or Im gonna make a real men of genius commercial about you LOL

- the MCT is quite nice but holds no candle to a DCT or PDK.

Nice video. I guess I would need to make one to compare the difference. That Z must be a blast, is it still comfortable for the streets?

In regards to your tuner, does he do ECU tune by mail? Would you recommend this method or would it be better to have it done at a shop to over check everything?

Yes, my Z is driven on the street almost daily. My wife even drives it. Despite it having so much HP it's still extremely streetable and civilized.

Regarding the tune, it's done by mail. They program the ECU the day they receive it and then overnight it back to you. It's a very simple process. This is where you order it
