Do all the whiz-bang electronics on the new CLS trigger false K-band radar alerts?

Hey Guys,

I stuck my V1 in the new CLS and I am getting a sh*tload of false K band alerts. I am wondering if the distronic/lane assistance/parking distance control etc stuff run by the car's own radar system is triggering false positives?

Anybody else experience this problem? Out here in CA I can disable the K band without too much worry, but I woud like to confirm it is the car triggering the alerts in the first place before doing so.

Thanks to all.

From what I read on this forum, the distronic + gives off the K band radar signal.

I have been looking at radar/jammer solutions and was thinking going the Passport 9500 route (not entirely sure if it would solve the K band issue). But like you said, K band is not really needed (in CA) and you can shut it off on the V1.

I wondered about this with the newer MB's, my CL distronic sets off the K band and I read several people were using the V1 or the 850. Do they not use distronic or not have it? I love it, use it all the time, even in city traffic.
I found a company that works seamlessly with the K40 or the 9500, they integrate the whole system into the Comand display in the speedo, MidcityEngineering.com, very nice and its all hidden.
But its a lot more than a few tickets would cost....

Sounds like I will be disabling the K band in the next few days.

I own 5 V1's so I'm not inclined to switch over to the Passport until I am certain it offers a huge advantage. Thx to all as usual!
