with all those cars, man, I'd be bonkers for wheels.........I'm guessing not too many of them are interchangeable with each other

have not heard of DPE before, then again my experience with different companies isn't that varied

seems like there are a lot of possibilities for the GTS, so many choices

Zero interchangeablity for many reasons but not limited to:

Widths
Offsets
Bolt Patterns (biggest)
Tire sizes
AWD systems
Rolling Diameter differences

I love HRE (16 sets) just having options is good. I have run BBS, Klassen, and now these. I got to check on them first hand as they were cut and then finished; zero complaints.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Didn't I mention before that a Lambo will be in your stable soon after you got the 458. Oh, both 458 and GT3 are gone.
I guess AMG was right when their commercial showed a GTS overtaking a 911 in a boy's dream. Does the GTS feel better than the GT3, thus the replacement?

Sorry missed this ask. I would say they are different in feel. The GT3 is the much more involving car on the street requiring the driver to be in the right rpm range to maximize production. Its a race car no doubt but made for the street. The GTS is more along the lines of a GT car with race car moments. It asks for much less from the driver when on the street and wanting to go fast. But it has great handling characteristics and a reasonable weight balance (53% rear). I love(d) both cars for different reasons. For general driving in California (non track) the GTS is the better car IMHO but on the track the GT3 is nuts. I didnt get the GTS as a replacement but more as a whim while seeing friends at the dealer.

Great thread guys, however, nobody listed their offsets on the wheels so it's hard to know exactly what offsets to run given each tires size & width...

I want to run 19x9.5 / 19x11 rears running 265/305 PSS or CDW tires on W218 CLS63 (2012 RWD model). What offsets would I need to run for those to fit running either stock suspension or minimal drop (no coil overs for me).

The goal is to have as much mechanical grip up front to minimize under steer and 305s in rear to handle the additional torque of a tune.

Any help appreciated, thanks!

I have the Vorsteiner FF-102's in 20x9 and 20x11 with 255's in the front and 305's in the rear. That seems to be the most common wheel and tire width's for those doing 20's. You could probably fit a 9.5 up front but I wouldn't say it is is needed and 265's would only increase understeer.

I have a 2012 like you and also have a tune, so feel free to ask me any questions you might have. I don't know the exact offset on mine, but I'm sure you can find it on the Vorsteiner website or contact Jay at VIBE Motorsports and he can give you that info. He was a pleasure to work with.

You have it backwards, 265 reduces under steer. Adding more rubber to the rear increases under steer.

Two reasons I want to go 9.5. first is to run 265s comfortably, and secondly, 9.5" wheels can be ordered in deep concave to match the rears where as most 9" are shallow concave profile.

2 questions for the 305 club:

Will a 305 wide tyre fit on my rear stock 19x10 alloys or do I need to go to a 11" wide wheel?

Does the wider rear wheel/tyre make a noticeable difference to off the line grip?

Cheers,

Steve

You need 10.5 minimum to run a 305, 11" is ideal
