Ordered my 2014 CLS63 S-Model today... need wheel opinions

When you were doing your order and selecting options, did you see anything about the Carbon Fiber Engine Compartment Cover option (apparently the option cost $5400.00, but doesn't give any detail as to what's included)? Seems pretty pricey for just a carbon fiber engine cover.
Thanks,
Tony

Hey Tony... Here's the 2014 CLS Dealer Ordering Guide which lists all the available options for the AMG as well. I didn't see any Carbon Fiber Engine Compartment Cover. That was included in the Performance Package option. The PP option has been eliminated and is essentially the S-Model.

Here's the configuration from the local dealership, I'm going to keep everything on list except the nightview assist and the carbon fiber compartment cover option (B14) unless this includes the exterior carbon fiber trim.

Hey Vic,
How strong are those HREs, have you had any issues with them bending? Currently I'm stationed in the Tri-State area of Philly, Delaware and New Jersey and the roads are crap to say the least. I'm ran 22s on most of my big cars (S-Class and 750Li) and these roads are brutal. I know that the HREs are light, but how do they stand up?
Thanks,
Tony

Wow, they kept the overall price the same as 2013 so you get the 4WD system for not much more.
Confirm that you get the LSD standard in the S as I would think you would want this option. I noticed it that it was still an option on the dealer ordering guide. Interesting that it also states that it is only an option for the S model not the regular CLS63.
Appears they lowered the matte paint price too. I paid $4K for alagno and your charge for white is 2.3K.
What is the split option?
5K for the carbon engine option is crazy...

Emericr,
Yeah, the LSD comes standard on the S-Model so that is a definite plus. As far as the splitview, it's the Nav screen where the driver sees the Nav and the passenger can watch a movie, etc. I'm still waiting for them to clarify what's included in that B14 option, there's no way in the world that I would pay 5K for a piece of carbon fiber on the engine.

I had read as well that the LSD is included in the S package but it shows as an option on the recent guide provided in this thread so I would recommend you check with the dealer and have them put it in writing and advise them it would be a deal breaker if your car comes without.
There were unhappy customers when the packages for the C63 came out the first year.

You are right. It shows it as a standard.
I'm not sure where the guide that's on this thread came from (great info though), but here's the link to Mercedes official brochure for the 2014 CLS, CLS63, and CLS63P. Take a look at the options at the end of the brochure.

That's the official Dealer Ordering Guide which was sent to me directly from the dealer, you can see when the latest updates were. It is unusual that they show different info for the LSD. I'll bring that up in the next AMG Private Lounge chat.

The split view option was available when I had the salesman I was dealing with put in the order. I didn't see it either on the guide, but I saw it on his ordering screen.

Not sure if they're changing out the Command unit or not, I know that they already offer the split view in the S-Class. I can only go on what they put in for the build I was going to do, it's possible that it may have been a special order item. However, I recently purchased Pertplus's CLS63 so I will not be purchasing a 2014 now. I would contact the dealership that you plan on working with and do a virtual build and see what they offer now that it's closer to the release date now.

2014 CLS63-S Model
I FINALLY got my VIN today!! Build was complete on 8/27, now it's just a quick hop across the pond and into my garage. It seems like it's been forever considering I first talked to my dealer in April! They say the custom interior was the long pole in the tent, but hopefully it will be worth the extra wait.
Final build was:
The beast should be here in mid-to-late September, so now I need some help... I've got a wish list including wheels, ecu tune, rear diffuser, and maybe some wrap or plastidip work... BUT I do not yet have a reputable shop to work with. Does anyone know of any solid shop(s) in the Dallas, Texas area? I know Renntech has a couple dealers in the Houston area, but I'd prefer to have a local resource.
Final build was:
- Iridium Silver
- Designo Platinum interior
- Carbon Fiber trim
- Black Dinamica headliner
- Carbon Fiber spoiler
- Premium 1 pkg
- Driver Asst. pkg
- Parktronic
- Rear airbags (for the kids!)

On our shop car we dropped down from the 21" HRE 794RS to these 20" P44SC and it looked better if you ask me!
