License SUSPENDED, 1 year, FAWK!
Well well well,
Got a ticket for 103 in a 65............today the gavel came down hard............as I thought it might due to my STUPIDITY!
Tomorrow begins the sentence to have NO driving for a year.
IF I may: what do I need to consider when letting my car sit so long? Drain fluids? Disconnect batteries? OR, start it up once a week? Drive it in my driveway? Stuff like that?
Any thoughts would be really appreciated! And I know............I'm retarded.........my

damn sorry to hear this man
103 in these cars feels like 65 mph so its hard to tell unless you're looking at the speedometer lol
im sure you'll be more careful next time
im tuned and I have a lot of fun in my car but most of my time is spent accellerating fast to speed limit and sometimes slightly over. although sometimes I do speed, most of my thril comes from accelerating up to speed quicly and letting off
that punishment is harsh
but as for the car
I'd reccommend driving it around the neighborhood every once in a while. or have somebody you trust use it every once in a while

1st if you haven't already done so, get a good attorney. Kind of behind the 8 ball now though.
See if you can get a hardship license for work or school or whatever.
Appeal the ruling. Seems harsh if you have no prior history. Got one for much worse and just paid a fine and went to driving school but didn't lose license or even have it reported to insurance.

That sucks dude, a lot of times I caught myself driving about 110 because it felt like 65...so I know.

Sincere thanx fella's for the support.
I did have an attorney, I did already take a driver improvement class. I had some tickets in 2012, 2013 and 2014; but none since then, but none of them were over 100. The lady 'judge' was pretty curt with me. I was paying close attention to the way she was addressing the other people that were before her. She greeted them ,asked how they were.....actually spoke to them.......funny thing is, the fact that I was going over 100 really seemed to **** her off as none of the 'common pleasantries' were extended to me.......she didn't even look at me LOL! She was simply disgusted that I would have the nerve to go over 100MPH. BUT as I said, the tickets from the past WERE mentioned, and to be honest I'm happy as fawk to not be sitting in jail for 30 days.
You guys so far think it's too harsh?
I don't know if I want to proceed with another lawyer and felt pretty good about the guy I got.
I might have to just suck this one WAY up and live and learn.
Thanx again for the support, you guys watch you asses lol

So uber for a year, "live and learn" and move on.
Also, get rid of any car that tempts you to go over the speed limit.

Videos are missing? IMHO there should be no speed limits, but instant driver liscense loss for reckless driving(BMW idiots swerving left and right in traffic)
What's funny those BMW idiots only get 5 points for that, while a cellphone is now 6 and speeding could be even more..despite good Americans driving in their own lane on their own time SAFELY.
While 40 over is alot..You're def not this guy...
Looks kind of fake too,,

Oh man sorry to hear that's really harsh for only going 40 over the judge must've been in a bad mood. Back in 2009 when I was 18 I got charged with reckless driving, drag racing, and speeding 135 in a 45 all 3 were class X misdemeanors. I lawyered up and got off with 1 year court supervision and nothing on my record not even a moving violation. Had to pay $500 to the lawyer and $500 in court fees but I got the best traffic lawyer in my county who knew all the judges and prosecutors.

Wow that sounds a bit harsh. Definitely get a better lawyer next time that can play the game properly...and you know...invest in some countermeasures if you don't already have them. If the car is sitting for a while you'll have plenty of time to install them

Currently in the process of getting a better guy, or gal, and considering appealing if it's feasible. And yes, PLENTY of time.

Happened to me in 2004
Lasted on my record until 2017.
I feel for you. I am a Marylander and had no idea about how bad Virginia was in terms of their regressive taxes.(driving laws). Mine was 92 in a purposely lowered safety zone (judge manipulated local speed limits because a friend had died on the roads) of 55 while safely passing some tractor trailers, using blinkers, and then reducing speed. I had to go back and spent a half day in jail. The lawyers told me that in southern Birginia I had no chance because of the judge going to the church with the cop in the same building as the civic center and the courthouse.... Turns out that the judge was featured on 20/20 for being the Boss Hog of Virginia.
As most have said, appeal and do not wait as your appeal-ability might disappear.
Long Term I decided I do not drive or spend any money in that backwards state. Some of the worst laws in the country still reminiscent of the deeeep south.
Make sure to get the radar detector if you stay in Va.(many leave after their first legal run in) The ticket is a no brainer if it has any chance of happening again.
good luck.

That really sucks.
NC has some bad highway troopers, similar to CA... Did you try to take a traffic attorney or a ticket clinic? It can in many times help, depending on your history.

My funny "extra" part of my story is that I was pulled over in NC on the way down and was facing similar repercussions BUT it only cost 250 dollars for the local lawyer to fix it. Virginia cost about 3-4k, a half day in Jail, driving class, reckless on my record (which did not transfer due to the class), and 13 years on the Virgina record. In NC I threw the weed out the window. In VA I ate the half a burned joint (Im a long time cannabis person now running a regulated license) and was swallowing as he put me in his front seat. I didn't really breathe or say much as he told me I must come back to the state to rectify the ticket. I suppose it could have been a lot worse in VA.
You should be able to get the license back with a good local connected lawyer.
