Beauphus's CLS55 rebuild...

Last month I hydro-locked my motor and after haggling with the insurance company I ended up being compensated for the whole mess. The car is 100% perfect - just bent a couple rods. The engine was completely disassembled down to the block and is being re-built as we speak. Below is my list of mods being done. I will have full pics and video once completed in approx 2 weeks.

1. 180mm pulley (Renntech)
2. 82mm TB (Renntech)
3. Renntech Carbon Fiber intake airbox
4. PTE/VRP cams
5. PTE thermostat
6. Heads, runners, and distribution tanks ported and polished
7. Titanium valve spring retainers
8. MBH Longtube headers
9. Phenolic heat spacers (upper and lower)
10. ASP replacement pulleys (double idler, tensioner, etc. with upgraded ZZ bearings)
11. Cooling mods (Upgraded heat exchanger, split reservoir cooling setup)
12. Exhaust work with stock mufflers. 3" back. Primary cat delete
13. Powerchip custom tune
14. Quaife LSD

Have almost all the parts. Cant wait for this to be complete. Car should be a beast. Did I miss anything???

Good to hear that the engine rebuild is going well. Is renntech rebuilding your engine?

"I got a connection at the airport"

No renntech isnt doing the build. I almost took it there but changed my mind at the last minute. I truthfully didnt want to be forced to only do it the renn-tech way as they have a tendancy to not want to try other things or use other products - and unfortunately I need a little more flexibilty...

Don't re-do the exhaust. it's already dual 3" all the way back and bent perfectly. If you do anything, it should be with the cats, resonator, or mufflers.

Otherwise, you're just wasting money with likely uglier parts.

I think I'm just going to remove the primary cats and leave the rest alone. I don't want it to be real loud. I was considering doing x-pipe. We will see. Thx for the heads up

How much power will your car be making after all the mods are done? I'm also thinking of an x pipe but I hear that some people have lost power from that.

No idea. I'm assuming all components together will make a lot more power in conjunction then they wood on their own so it's hard to predict. Hopefully 625 to the wheels

I'm glad you were able work everything out with your insurance company. That definitely sounds like a monster build and should yield some really nice hp.

Hey there, were you at ? WPB/FTL/MIA ? I'm in FTL and could hook up with you so you can hear my exhaust. I removed the Primary cats but way too loud so now I have shorty headers high flow cats (i think 100 cell) xpipe and high flow resonators with the stock AMG muffler. It sound really good and when you drive normally you dont hear it.
What shop is doing the re-build for you ? I've got the same mods that you are getting minus the porting and the valve springs and let me tell you shes a beast. Cant keep rear tires on her at all they just dont last.
Let me know and I'll come by.
john.
