What do you mean by "much more aggressive design than the stockers"?... Do you have the stock specs to the OEM cam to compare it to that of the aftermarket ones?

Pictures dont quite show it but in person you can see and feel the difference in the size of the lobe. They are significantly bigger. These are the most aggressive cams on the market i am aware of. Much more aggressive specs than stock, SLR, Kleemann etc. The designer of these is PTE. If you want more info I suggest you ask him. He knows his stuff.

If you can clearly see a difference between lobe height between the OEM cams and aftermarket cams, then yes there is a HUGE difference between the two, but that isn't necessary a good thing!

Running a wild or overly aggressive cam on the street (in a daily driver) isn't always all that beneficial. It's always a give and take business when you're working with cams. You gain some power at one range, only to take some from another. Cam tuning is often so minute, that you can not visually see the changes, but you'll down right feel them.

I don't know who "PTE" is, but the cam they / he provided you with should have come with a spec card. On that card it should at the very least detail the following. This info is necessary for not only the builder but also the tuner, as if the aftermarket cams specs are too out of range from that of the OEM cam, you're going to run into a wold of running and tuning issues.

Operating RPM Range
Intake Duration at 050 inch Lift
Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift
Duration at 050 inch Lift (for both in & ex)
Advertised Intake Duration
Advertised Exhaust Duration
Advertised Duration (for both in & ex)
Lobe Separation (degrees)

Once you get these values, compare them to the stock cam specs and that will give you a real idea on how aggressive or not the cam is. Don't just go with what people tell you. Last but not least, sometimes the mildest of cams in a properly setup application will yield far better results than an aggressive cam in the same application.

See if you can source the cam info. I'm curious to see what intake and exhaust lift they're going with as well as the lobe separation they're running, considering it's a computer controlled engine....

I have these cams as well. PTE is very knowledgeable and created the specs for these cams. But even though they're the most aggressive cams available for our cars, they're still mild compaired to Ford or Chevy hi-lift aftermarket cams.

Beauphus's engine build is in good hands!

Are these the VRP cams???

"... VRP custom built cams, are made in Germany of the highest quality and are the most aggressive camshafts available for this car on the market, while maintaining a quiet idle for everyday drivability. VRP cams provide 30rwhp (@ peak) and 40rwtq (@ 4,000RPM). Power increase started right at 2,600RPM all the way to redline ..."

If you don't mind me asking, what did they set you back? I installed a set of NISMO cams in my G35 and for the $1100 I paid for them, the gains north of 25HP were well worth it. The increase in power was quite noticeable on the upper end of the RPM band, specially pulling power on the highway.

From what I can research, the VRP's go for around $3200!!! That's a hefty price to pay for 30 "peak" ponies...

Yes those are my cams. They were designed by PTE and manufactured by Schrick. I have the sam specs but have been asked not to reveal the specs to anyone other than the tuner do to people copying them. Pat aks "PTE" is very well respected by everyone on the boards and designed these specifically for this application.

They are pricey however deals can be found and in conjunction with all the other mods i would only imagine the 30rwhp will be magnified and potentially much higher based on this mod. As a standalone it may not be the best bang for your buck mod BUT in conjunction with headers, pulleys, porting/polishing, airbox, throttle body, and software tuning this could be a game changer or at least so I have been told...

listen to these to clips of other cars with these cams...
