P30 Rotor Swap

It's new rotor/pad time.
Would P30 Rotors (2 piece) fit the "regular" 55's 8 pot calipers?
Are they lighter?

I don't believe they fit. You're better off going with GiroDisc or some comparable.

Hi
Thank you for that...I had read a few posts saying the P30 204's rotors could be swapped for the regular single piece ones, therefore assumed this would be the case here too...?

The P30 discs are larger in diameter. What you would need is different brackets or run spacers. I'd say search a little, you can find the article about the guy who had spacers machined to space out the calipers.

Thank you!
I shall try the search again.
But if you do come across it, I would be hugely grateful if you could share the link.
Thanks again.

I tried W211 E63 2-piece Rotor with E55 caliper & spindle,,

it fit perfectly, just need little bit cut the protective plate edges, for caliper bracket clearance..

Zayed, Are you saying that the 390mm front p30/E63 rotors fit the 8pot E55 Calipers STRAIGHT??? With NO adapters, rubbing, touching, etc etc...?????

No bro., i meant; "W211 E55 or E63" uses the same (360x36) Rotor,,

for that should be no problem to fit E63 2-piece with E55 8-pot caliper..

(390x36) is another thing & need adapter for sure..

Shimmed stock calipers

I used 17mm shims when upgrading my stock 360 disks to 390's

Machined from a 1 1/4" diameter aluminum rod. Although a 1 1/8" rod woulda been enough

Before installing the shims, no, it didnt fit. But the shims moved the caliper to where it needed to be, just as the brambo/amg bracket would've
