good diving watch

ok so my brains totally screwy, for my JR year im gonna be doing study abroad in Australia, and for some reason rather then worrying about everything ELSE i have to do in order to get there....first thing i start thinking about is a watch to use for all the beach/surf/scuba stuff il be doing. right now i have a Cartier Pasha rated to 330 ft....but i think i want to get something that's slightly better. so my question is...whats a good watch for this kinda stuff? i see a ton of photos of Rolexs with the NATO strap anyone know how those are? or any other recommendations? thanks!

A few toys
I think a Rolex Submariner would be ideal for your purpose. It is a robust piece which can be worn dressed up or down and is very versatile.

Omega Seamaster is another great option. Versatile, lots of different styles. Usually cheaper than Rolexes...

Good Luck, and enjoy Australia.

I've had one for 7 years and it's still flawless.

Depends on the model. I have an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean, and a James Bond Edition Seamaster Chronometer.

My Chronometer ran me about $2200 new. My Planet Ocean was about $2800 18 months ago, also new.

I have the Planet Ocean for sale now, trying to trade up to a Chronograph. If you are interested, let me know. Otherwise, you can check Tourneau and Jared stores. They have alot of Omega's. Stryke may also be able to work something out for you too.

Only get a Submariner if it's going to be your everyday watch. It's a very sturdy piece and it's a great diving watch. But if you buy it, know that every other guy on the face of the earth who has 3 or 4 grand will have one too.

If you want to set yourself apart go for the anniversary edition with the green bezel. You might not be able to find a new one, but a second hand one will be fine.

I just picked up a Seamaster GMT, I think it would also fit your needs.

They make an awesome rubber strap that fits both watches.
I've had both of these. I like the PO better, it has Dual AR coating a nicer movement and a better overall look. I have the GMT now as a every day watch that I don't feel like I have to worry about it when wearing it. I really like the 24hr GMT hand as well.

Or you can get the GMT on bracelet.

Which Bond edition do you have, Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace? I've got the Casino Royale, just love it.

Anyway, I agree, it's a great diver...rated down to 2000', tough as nails toboot, but not at all uncomfortable for a 45mm watch w/the rubber strap.
