225/60/14 on 14" 450SL Please help!!!
Hello,
Has anyone ever tried a 225/60/14 on 14" 450SL. I've got OE rims with painted hubcaps and want a sure footed tire. Will this size look goofy? Any good advice on a really euro 14" tire. I'm thinking of a michelin in this size. Not really interested in a asian tire.

depends on the weather
while the 225 would fit not many companies make that size any longer so, the selection is very limited and there are no really good tires in that size. I would go with a 205/65-14 ..... you can get better performance in that size because of the selection

2005 S500 4-Matic, 1978 450SL
Sorry to revive an old thread, but what tires would you recommend now on a 1978 450SL? My next door neighbor bought one today as a restoration project. The only tire listed on the site for the OE size is the 205/70R14 Sumitomo HTR 200 high performance summer tires. I know nothing about them, and the 205/65 size recommended above no longer seems available on the site.
The car will be driven in Florida, with occasional heavy rain, but no snow. Winter temps do get into the mid to upper 20's on occasion. The driver is middle aged, does not drive cars hard (or overly cautiously). Handling would be most important to him.
