correct offset for amg 18's/17's on 124 series?? please help!

correct offset for amg 18's/17's on 124 series?? please help!
Hi, I really want to get the offset correct as I hate seeing proples vehicles with the wheels sticking too far out, and dont dont want to spend a fortune only to hav it happen to me!

Im deciding between AMG (reps) 18 split rim, or 17" mono's for my 124 e320 coupe

If the 18's are 7.5/8/8.5 could you give me the correct offset please?
am I right in saying that if I go with 17's, they will be 7.5, and the offset will be 35??

EDIT: The 18's are 8", and the 17's are 7.5. Any help you can give me would be greatfully appreciated
