Could I use 22/50/17 tires for my C230K instead?

Could I use 22/50/17 tires for my C230K instead?
Have a 04 C230K sedan with about 9k miles only. One of the tire blew last night. Want to find out if I can use 225/50/17 tires instead of the current 225/45/17 that it has right now? The 225/50/17 tires are an extra set that I have from another car. Otherwise I have a feeling that I would need to replace 2 tires and can not just replace one. I'm hoping the 225/50/17 would fit so that I can save some money. Hopefully the 1" increased in diameter would not rub against anything?
