CLK 430 w/17x8.5's all the way around?

I really like the "dish" look on my CLK 430's 17x8.5's in the rear. I'd like add 17x8.5's in the front matched with the 225x45's. Any reason why I shouldn't?

depends on the weather
won't work ... the rear wheels have the wrong offset so they do not work on the front

..........i have 18x8.5 lm5 wheels with 225/40/18's in the front of my CLK. It works just fine. The offset must be different then from those of AMG wheels? I didn't think they were.

2000 Clk 430
Last winter my dealer mounted my tires and put the front on the back and back on the front, drove home with no problems, noticed their mistake and changed them back. So on my CLK it worked.

switched rims

I also saw a CLK430 at the dealership with the front and rear wheels reversed. I didnt drive it, but i asked a friend there, and he said that it had been test driven multiple times with no problems. (if he knew they were switched, why didnt he just take the 15 minutes and get them put on correctly??? ) But as far as perminant installation, im not sure how well they would work.
