20" on SL500

Hello

I did some research online and I just wanted to confirm that these would fit my 2003 SL500 (non-sport) without any modifications?

255/30/20 & 305/25/20 with 20" rims.

Thanks in advance.

Those tires will fit great. I do have one suggestion though. Many of my customers have used 255/30/20 and 305/25/20 Continental tires due to the fact that they were first to introduce proper 20 inch tires sizes for the SL. But, Michelin later introduced the Pilot Sport 2 in 255/30/20 and 295/25/20 which ride better, wear better, and handle better. The slight loss of rear tire width is nothing to base your decision on. Trust me, you would be much happier with the Michelins on your Mercedes.

Very cool. Thanks for the info. Would I need to roll my fenders? What exactly does that entail if I do?

As long as you use wheels with the proper offsets, you will not have to roll your fenders.

It is so funny that in automotive tuning, many people get "caught up in numbers" meaning its all up about the biggest thing possible. We have had great success with the Continental tires, but it is so hard to transistion a prospect to the PS2 in 295 simply because of that 305 affection! lol

Oh well, good luck with your ulitmate decision. On a r230 500 you are fine either way.
