The PS2 is an asymmetric tire, with a side wall that is always on the outside, with no requirement for rotation direction.
Alternately, there are directional tires, that are mounted to rotate in a specific direction.
There are some tires that are both.

One opinion is that there is limited advantage for a side to side rotation.
My policy has always been to rotate using allowable patterns, at each oil change.
There are two tire issues I find with my vehicle. One is the rears wear out very, very fast. It would be better to permit a front / rear rotation to even out the wear. With my snows I got all the same size and it works.
The other is tire damage. The roads suck and I've lost too many tires and a wheel to this problem.

you can rotate from side to side but, unless you are a nascar driver only turning left, I see no real advantage of doing that

I do side to side rotations. I have found that the right sides wear more than the lefts because of the crowning of the rural roads that I do most of my driving on.
