Hey Luke, need help with rims & tires for '03 E55.
Hi Luke,
I got your name from the Benz forum. I have an ’03 E55 that will need tires this spring. I know there are a million combinations that the guys on the forum are using on their cars. I’m looking at changing the rims as well to get a 285 on the rear. My car has not been lowered. I’m considering a 19x9.5 rim with a 285/30 tire for the rear and a 19x8.5 with a 255/35 front. This seems to be the combination that most of the guys are using. I have a few questions:
Am I on the right track?
Will I need any special offset for the rims?
Will there be any impact on the spedo/mileage?
Anyone having any rubbing issues with this combination?
I’ve had S03 PP’s before and was not really happy with the treadwear (7-8K miles on my C32). Most of the guys swear by the PS2’s, but now I’m hearing more buzz about the Toyo RA1’s. Any suggestions?
FYI I have ordered from The Tire Rack for years, and wouldn’t buy tires any other way. Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
