caliper paint..
I just need to figure out what method to use. The spray paint one seems alot more afffordable and easier, but i dont see how im going to get into detail with it. It also seems messy.
The BIGBADDAD method seems easy to, but that kit looks expensive.
Finally, do you guys think silver or black would look good on a black 320?
Removing the caliper would really prolong the whole process. That was what i was thinking about when reading all the post. "i might aswell do it when i change pads!"...but now knowing that most of you kept it on and it looks that good, im going to be off to the store.

If your only choices are black or silver i think a nice bright silver will look better than black. But then again if your doing silver its almost like stock. I personally would go with red with a balck car. Look at my pic i posted the red and black really looks sporty.
My main question is, if I over spray/paint the calipers, would it somehow jam up my brakes and won't function properly?
Don't flame me.... I'm no mechanic
My knowledge in the actual mechanics of a car is slim to none. I wanted to paint my own calipers, but I hesitiated because I didn't know if I was going to damage the brakes.

if its a match i think i'll do the blue otherwise red.
any pics would help.

i am thinking of using the G2 brush on paint for my calipers. its a black c230 with C7. Does the G2 blue paint color match the blue on the center of the C7 MB emblem?

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
should arrive tomorrow, if it's sunny and I find a good jack and jack stands i'll do it very soon and post some pics
it'll be silver paint on silver car
blackc230coupe - would you possibly be able to post a few more pics? One a bit farther away would be great. Thanks either way
prepping doesn't take much time just make sure you tape all rubber parts since the cleaning spray affects them. (there are not many parts to cover if you know how to spray ;p)
after all done one thing you gotta remember time is your enemy
because after you mix paint and the solution to activate it, you only have 5-6 hours to finish job before paint turns into gum.
i suggest before you mix the paint and activator, devide your paint in 2, get a clean jar and put half in there and just use half activator, that way if emergency arises and you can't finish the job, then you'll have plenty left to continue later ( this happened to me lol had to run to the hospital came back didn't have good paint).
also just gotta have a good hand just like a painter when doing it, it's very easy to apply it. after doing first coat, go do another caliper as you gotta wait 15 mins to apply second coat.
there's plenty of paint for all calipers, i have about half left after doing all.
pic 1 is before job
here's some pics hope it helps
oh and 24hr no driving let it cure first before break heat hits
i'll try to get the hole car shot later
any questions feel free to ask
oh and i went with silver, just wanted to keep the clean look and make my calipers look a little better, as you can see first pic, that's after cleaning them, they were really dirty and almost rusty looking
I had chosen black, but i think I'll go red, my car is black, what do you guys think I should paint them, black or red?
I have the spray paint, I've just been to lazy to do it, but after watching all those calipers painted I'm thinking about doing it tomorrow.

both look good red or black on black
just depends on the look you want
if you go red lots of peeps will prolly just stare at your breaks all day
if you go black it'll be smooth
it's all up to your taste
but like i said both look good
the c coupe up above since it's not a sedan i think red goes better than black
RED then! I don't mind catching people's attraction
goodluck
good, post pics when your done. i see alot of people at traffic lights starting at my wheels and i think its because the brakes.
goodluck
