Best way to fix a nail in my tire...help...

I have seen a couple shops do it different....
1) pull the nail and put a plug in; or
2) pull the nail, sand the inside, place a patch, light the patch on fire

want to make sure which shop to take it to...help.....

I want to be safe at 140

this all assumes the nail is in the tread and not side wall!

If the puncture is at the side wall, it is not recommended to be fixed, rather replaced. If it's at the intersection of the tread and the side wall, also do not fix, replace. If it's in the crease of the tread, option #2 is the best, never plug. that won't last.
