Luke, is the Pirelli P6000 a decent tire ??
For a C320 with AMG Split spoke 17's (staggered) - so basically a C32 setup.
I'm ONLY looking for low road noise and comfort (and decent tread wear)...max performance doesn't really matter to me.
255/40R17 for $96 ?? how long will this be going on ?? That's the internet price at TIRERACK as of 081302
std fronts are 225/45R17...I want to upsize a bit tho...wider...to 235/40R17 or 245/35R17 ??
would that even be noticeable ? I just would like them a little wider...not a lot (wife hit 1 curb already).
Other considerations: the Kumho 712 and the Continental Contact2...(its nearly twice as much as the P6000)
Thanks !

depends on the weather
there are many variations of the P6000 but, as a whole, I am not a fan of that tire. It is an older design tire that does not deliver the ride quality, tire life or peroformance of todays more modern tires.
You can find tire that will meet your needs at a very attractive price .... before you ask your next question I'll answer it ... (Tire ESP is a good thing) Depending on your driving style you could use the Yokohama AVS Intermediate if you are looking for performance or the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 for ride quality and tire life.
As far as, a wider size in the front I would suggest you stay with the 225 you are currently using. Many of todays tires have a rim protector bead that will offer you a little more protection for your wheel. The Kumho previously mentioned does have this bead.

thanks Luke. I'm just a little hesitant to get the Kumho's for some reason. But I AM looking for ride comfort and treadwear NOT maximum skidpad G's.
So the Kumho 712's actually "ride" better (quieter-more tread life) than the S03 ?
Thoughts on the Continental Contact2's ?? (my buddy just put them on his '02 330i and is happy)
Thanks again
(I forgot to mention - riding on Mich Pilot Sports now they're a bit firm but road noise is low)
