E55 Snow Tires...Should I get Winter Rims...and What About Going Down a Size?

I need to consider snow tirs for my E55. I am considering winter rims as well. What do people suggest is the best value/$$?

i doubt that smaller diameter wheels will clear ur brakes. i dont think a 17in wheel will work.

get as narrow tires as possible, the narrower the better in the snow.
u can more than likely run 225 front and 245 rear on the stock wheels. unless u want to get some narrower 18in wheels and run 225 all around.
hope that helps

depends on the weather
front wheel and tire sizes on all four corners is the recommended way to go ... and the Dunlop Winter SPort M3 is currently the tire of choice but, that could change come next fall ..... why are we even discussing winter tires in May

Winter Tires

Have 05 E55 - fitted car with AMG rims (same size all around) and Pirelli 240 snowsports 245 40 18's all around just as noted on the door plaque. have now finished two winters in Calgary Alberta including many trips into the rockies. tires look good for a third winter. happy with the winter performance
