Do wheel locks work?

I am going to be living in New Brunswick, NJ over the summer for an internship. The place i will be living seems relatively secure (Rutgers New Brunswick Campus). the car will be parked in a parking garage which you must have a parking sticker to get into and i believe it is watched by campus police. Anyways, i will likely be driving around NJ and NY and would like to keep my AMG wheels from vanishing. This morning i ordered a set of wheel locks from my dealer. I have heard that they are no real deterrent to wheel theives, but given that i will be in a relatively save environment, i figured that it might be worth the investment. Also, wouldnt a thief move on to an easier target if one car had locks and another didnt? How effective are wheel locks at deterring theft?

when they give you four lock bolts, they'll give you the key. It's impossible to remove a tire without that key...unless that thief is a pro, and already has a copy somehow.

no, you dont even have to be a pro. they're easily removed and the tools
and hardware seen with a few keys typed under Google. the wheel locks
only slow down the casual thief a few extra minutes...though it may make
removing the bolts a little noisier.

things with and without wheels
If sombody really wants your wheels they will take them no matter if you have wheel lock or not. They just might take the whole car if they have to
Relax man NJ or NY is not as bad as you think, just be mindfull where you park or where you are .If you will go cruizing around the wrong neighborhoods at the wrong time they might just your car(carjack).Bad people are everywhere not just in NY or NJ.
thiefs steal wheels usually when the car is parked overnight in a less secure place or take the car to a quiet place to take the wheels off.

most wheels locks can be removed easily with basic hand tools, all wheel locks do is slow down the thief. Don't want to explain how online but it can be done.
