Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 or Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2
I have a friend who commutes 35 miles each way to work. She's looking for a tire with pretty good performance, decent in the rain (although she's in Socal so it's not that big of a deal), and whose tread will last. I realize that 1. and 3. are at the opposite ends of the spectrum, but of the two tires listed above, if she can get them for the SAME price, which do you recommend? Any feedback about the above tires would be appreicated. Can you recommend any other similar tires? Thanks
For the price, I would get the Kumhu Ecsta. I had them on my previous car, a BMW 3 series, and they ran just fine. Great all around tires. Not meant for racing or crazy cornering. I had mine for 35,000 miles w/ no problems..then i sold my car. Kumhu are a good deal in comparsion. The only drawback was that they were noisy tires..

... at about $120 a tire with a 300(i think) treadwear rating, you cant go wrong.

I used to get 15 to 16k miles rom a set of 17" kumhos, but I was also dragracing with them, achieving 60' times of 1.9 on the NOS with out spinning on a 4500 lbs car!
