Upper/Lower Control Arm Bushing & Rattle Question

I have a 2002 C230 coupe, and I have a rattle coming my front driver's side suspension when I go over a bumpy road (say a gravel road). Jacked the car up, and started tapping around with the rubber mallet to see if I could find the rattle.

When I tapped the control arm which is mounted higher on the wheel hub assembly I hear a rattle, when I goto the same one on the passenger side, no rattle, sounds solid so I think the problem lies here.

My question is this, is the control arm which is mounted higher on the wheel hub assmebly considered the "upper" control arm, and the one mounted lower the "lower" control arm? If not how exactly do you tell the difference between the "upper" and "lower" control arms?

I just want to make sure before I go and order the parts. Should I replace all the bushings (lower and upper) while I'm at it?

Thanks in Advance,

Rich...

One of the most comon problems on the W203 Chassis with Noises over bumps from the front suspension is the Sway Bar Links. The Thrust Arm bushings are also a comon problem as well, but they don't normally make noise unless its really bad.
