Thanks Luke, have another related question.....
My SLK32 is equipped with 225/45 ZR x 17 (front) and 245/40 R x 17 (rear).
Would like to install a 255/40 ZR x 17 to replace the OEM rear tires (same brand, Pirelli P-Zer Russo). I noticed that the overall diameter (and circumference) of the 255s is a closer match to the 225s in front. Also, the larger cross section at the rear will improve the looks of the car.
Offhand, I expect the change to induce a bit more understeer on initial turn-in, but should help reduce oversteering when powering out of a corner. My guess is it should not cause any concerns during normal driving.
Am I correct in my assumptions or will there be any adverse effects to my changing the rear tires?
