ABC Suspension?

Is this a pretty good description of the ABC suspension system, as used on the S-Class et al:

independent (f): 4-link, active adj. hydraulic ram strut w/ integral tube shocks, coil springs
independent (r): 5-link, active adj. hydraulic ram strut w/ integral tube shocks, coil springs

I'm pretty sure the system negates the need for a conventional anti-roll bar, but do the ram struts also eliminate the need for air springs? Do they perform a self-levelling function?

ABC-equipped cars have a front stabilizer bar. The system is hydraulic, not pneumatic. Many of your questions are answered here:
