What is the largest rear tire that will fit a W210 E55 with stock wheels?

What is the largest rear tire that will fit a W210 E55 with stock wheels?
I need to replace the rear tires on my 2001 E55. It has the stock wheels and has not been modified in any way.

Is there a wider tire that will fit? The stocks are, of course, 275/35/ZR18, but would 285's or 295/30s fit?

depends on the weather
stick with the 275/35-18

2016 GLE63s / 2016 E63s / 2002 E55
If you want a wider looking rear tire try the Nitto NT555 in 275/35/18. They have a broad shoulder and the widest contact patch.
