Trick to remove Lorinser wheels from CLK..?
Yesterday after changing the oil in my CLK, I thought I'd take advantage of having the car on jackstands to install a set of splash guards to keep the rocker paint chips to a minimum on my '04 CLK 500... I removed the lugs on the left front Lorinser LM6 wheel and could not get that wheel off...
No amount of pulling, yanking, swearing, threatening, or hammering with a rubber mallet on the inside of the tire could loosen the wheel even a little...
I even checked to make sure I didn't forget a lug nut and that wasn't the problem... Is there a trick to removing stubborn wheels ..? Is there a trick to prevent it from happening again...?

Nobody...? So am I the only one who's ever had a wheel stick or the only one who's ever tried to remove their own wheels..?

Thanks for the input... I find it hard to believe rust can be this stubborn but I'm at a loss as to what else it could be... Got to get out the BFH I guess...

I finally got them off... All 4 wheels were pretty stubborn... On the back of the Lorinser wheels, there is a bolted on centering adapter and all were rusty. I cleaned them all up and the centering hub too with a wire brush and applied a thin bead of anti-sieze just to see if it prevents it from happening the next time...
