life expectancy of conti sport contact 2's?

life expectancy of conti sport contact 2's?
just had a blowout on a rear after 10.3k miles - do these tires have a short life expectancy? I was told by two different tire techs that they only last between 10k & 15k miles.
rears: 305/25 ZR 20
fronts: 255/30 ZR 20

I had these on my Jag from the factory. I had about 13k on the orginals. I had to replace 2 tires due to being low profile and pot hole hunting here in Michigan.
My co worker has had the same issue on his Jag and just replaced with the Yokohama AVID V4S MAJOR CHANGE !! Not to mention those conti's would allow you to feel every bump in the road.
