What's involved in repairing a Forged Alum wheel ..?

Just curious if anyone here ( LUKE ..? ) has had experience with repairing a Forged Aluminum Wheel with respect to outer lip wheel rash...? My '04 CLK 500 came from the dealer with Lorinser LM6's and several could use some touch up of the outer lip due to what I'm assuming is the original owner coming into contact with unkown objects... There are gouges and chips off the outer lips but the rest of the wheels are in good shape...
I'm going to assume the repair prices are outrageously priced too no doubt...

Alot of times Ive seen where the lip can be re-machined back. Sometimes extra material has to be added if its a big chunk.
