Luke - Corvette questions

I am looking at buying a C5 Z06 corvette and is looking at some race tires.

Do I need to keep the factory front/rear diameter stagger in order for the ABS to work properly? I heard you were an expert in Corvette sizing. How much taller do the rears have to be than the front?

I wanted to get some 275/35ZR18 and 315/30ZR18 for my car but I think the front/rear are identical in height....I know I can turn off the Active handling but not sure about ABS...

Thanks in advance!

John

depends on the weather
while many trrack setups are the same diameter it is really not recommended for daily street use as it will interfere with the electronics (i.e.traction control, etc)

I have found better results by keeping the rear tires .6" taller than the front which leads to very balanced / neutral handling

and you had better have the suspension sorted out extremely well to run a 315 in the rear as it could possibly rub the fender

Still looking...
I have been led to believe you don't want more than .5 of an inch difference in the stagger. You should do everything to duplicate the tire height & difference between F&R of the stocks and not deviate much.

I was racing a C5 Z06 for a lot of events last year. We were using 295/35 R17 front and 315/30 R18 rear on Stock wheels.
