LUKE: Question about Yokohama S.drive and C.drive tires
Luke,
What can you tell me about the Yoke S.drive and C.drive tires? I know the S.drive is geared towards sport performance and the C.drive is geared towards comfort but that's all I know. Are they good? Junk? Are they even available in the U.S.?
I've read some good reviews on them but there's just not a whole lot of info out there on these tires. I'm looking for my W211 E500. The tires I have on there now (General Exclaim UHP) are getting annoyingly loud after 10K miles. Partly becuase they're staggered fitment and directional tires. And partly because they have never been rotated because of that fact. And more likely because they're just cheap tires, maybe. It's not helping the matter that my car is also lowered. Anyway, I'm looking for a budget replacment set due to the fact that I've never gotten more than 10K miles out of ANY set of staggered/directional tires. And it's just too expensive to keep putting Michelen's on this thing. I thought about giving these Yokohamas a try.
Your thoughts or recommendations? I should mention that right now I'm more interested in comfort and good wear over performance. I should also say that I will do some 125+mph blasts occasionally
Thanks in advance.

depends on the weather
the S-Drive is the repalcement for the ES100 so, it's an entry level performance tire. I found that it was a nice upgrade from ther ES100. They are pretty goos in the dry and wet with nice steering response and feel but, lack ultimate grip and feedback. Overall I would say they are decent and a pretty good value

i'd say go to an a/s tire...like a mich pilot sport a/s. I've gotten 20-25k out of multiple sets in a staggered set up. a bit less on my old e55, more on my current e500. I'm currently trying a bridgestone a/s as replacements for my rears, we'll see how they hold up compared to the mich
