Mercedes wheels are not made by Mercedes. They are contracted out to many other companys like Ronal and OZ.

When I got my AMG Split Spoke wheels - they came with the MB silver/black centre cap with the star and mercedes benz written around the outer portion of the cap. I saw a '03 C32 at the dealer the other day and the same wheels had the silver star only centre cap.
