Luke...what size tire

I have the Axis Mod 7's with the maxxis lip. The wheel size is 19" x 9.8. All 4 are the same size.
This is for a CLK320 Cabrio 1999
1. What size tire will work best?
2. My last set of tires were rubbing the upper A-arm ball joint bolt and dug a groove 1/4 wide and 1/4 deep. Luck had it that the tire never blew. I do believe the tire was a 195 /35/ 19. Problem is I do not remember and the rims have been sitting in my garage for 1 year so I do not know what the correct size tire should be.
