w203 suspension question
Does anyone know what company manufactures the OEM shocks for a 2001 w203 sedan w/o the sports pkg? Also, which shim pads does MB use with this setup? I'm thinking abouting lowering the vehicle with either H&R or Eibach springs. The car has over 50K miles. I want to know how the OEM shocks compare to Bilstein HDs and whether or not I should change the shocks out at the same time as when I change my springs. What is the longevity of OEM shocks?

i changed to Eibach spring since my car was new. I was Ok but when my car is 77000 km, the shock since can't hold the car.
You car has done 50k miles. Better change shock and spring, save you money and time.

I just replaced my OEM shocks with Bilstein HDs all around. The ride is firmer but remains comfortable, balanced and the rear end does not rub against the fender on dips like it used to (I am running 265/30 19R, 235/35 19F). Performance is noticeably improved, and these Bilsteins should last for as long as I own my car (a 2001 C320 with 36K miles).
