Jam, your E55/HRE offset is a miracle. But I just figured it out.
Maybe the addition of the Brembo brake upgrade pushed the rotor placement out a little further than the stock E55 brakes allowing for the wider rims of 9" with et32. Maybe that is it.

Don't think this has anything to do with the brake kit. It's just the specing that Peter made is just really precise. Think you just need return the rims you got now and just get your wheels from Peter so you won't have this problem anymore!

CORRECTED THE RUBBING - THE TIRE!
Replaced the 245/40/18 Nitto 555 with Dunlop 9000 of same size and no rubbing. The Nitto 555 has a 'broader shoulder' and the 9000 has a more rounded edge.
I was suspecting this and also this quote helped comfirm it - this is from a car enthusiast & import tuner, Brian, when asked why he selected Falken Tires in a Tire Magazine:
"Why Falkens? They have a more rounded edge than the Nitto's and I would have had to cut more out of the wheel well for the Nitto's to fit"
Another car enthusiasts & import tuner, Don, says this about this Nitto purchase:
"I got Nitto's because they had better hook-up (less tire spin) than any other tire at the price I wanted."
So the Conclusion:
My Nitto 555's (245/40R18) fit up front with AMG Monoblocks and et31 and the Dunlop 9000's (245/40R18) fit up front with my Antera 183 et35 without rubbing.
CUSTOM TUNING IS A GAME OF MILLIMETERS!

If had CAREFULLY READ the whole thread, I would have realized that Nitto NT555 was the problem *sorry*
They are great budget tires, but in close or hard-to-fit applications, we always use a dunlop 9000 (that's what I used in fitting the 19x10.5s to our E320).

I replaced my OEM E55 Monoblock rims with Antera wheels and the same size tire of 245/40/18. The specs are:
AMG Monoblock II
18X8 et31
Antera Type 183
18X8 et35
The change in offset is only 4 mm. The change from 31 to 35 pushes the wheel in by 4mm. The tire was completely touching the control arm on both sides. Now I need a 5mm spacers or need to use 235/40/18 tires up front. I am confused and shocked because Jam is using 19X9 et 32 up front with the same tire width.
The rubbing is here:
