Bigger tires on stock 16" W203 wheels?

The stock tires are 205/55/16. Without changing the stock wheels, can I put on tires that are slightly wider while maintaining the same outer diameter of the stock tire? I was thinking of something like a 225/50/16. Would that work?

thanks
Jim

You need to look and see what the wheel width is, I'm not sure off hand, but as long as they are 7 inches or wider, you can run the 225/50's and it will be fine.

If you call the tirerack, they can tell you the size change for wider tires, and what will fit

If you have a lokk at the Toyo site, you can cross reference your existing wheels/tyres with other comparables.
